Use the CD command to navigate to the location of the file or know where it is so you can specify a path to it. Recall that in this example we're using A: OUTPUT.PRN as the file you want to print. Issue the following command: COPY A: OUTPUT.PRN /B PRN This command does a binary (/B) copy of OUTPUT.PRN to the device PRN which is the system name for the default printer. Printing is done through the System.Drawing.Printing namespace. Specifically, you create a PrintDocument object to represent the document you are printing. You will need to lay out all the contents of the.prn file manually on the PrintDocument using standard drawing objects (i.e., Graphics.DrawString ).

What is a PRN File?
PRN file format contains instruction sets for printers. This format specifies and instructs the printers many controls, like what to print on the page, what the paper size is, which paper tray to use, etc. This format gets created automatically by the printer drivers when a printing command is given. Normally the process of creating PRN file isn’t visible but users can intercept and keep the file before printing a document. The intercepted PRN files can be opened with another device, even the original application of the document is not required. PRN files retain exact details of how a documents or images should be printed and can be used in CorelDRAW for modification and extraction of original files.

Hello
I have been trying to make a function that can send the output data or any text to a network printer, I read many articles/posts about it but nothing is working, have been looking for almost a week...
Whenever the program tries to use the printer function, it either hangs or gives the 'failed to open file' message.

It would be really appreciated if someone can give me a hand here, oh and the OS I'm using is Windows XP. and I would prefer if I didn't have to use the MFC or the Windows API if possible, but if this is the only way then it's OK.
Here is a sample of the code that I tried:
